Luzern 1947 6.The instrument has a slightly flamed one-piece back. The varnish is coloured red-brown brown, what is typical for this maker, caused by "dragon-blood". (see amati.com: OHM, Friedrich Wilhelm Born 1904 Basle Switzerland. Pupil of Walter Lauer. Fine copies of classical models. Cleanly and accurately worked with dragon’s blood and spirit varnish). There are normal signs of use with fine patina. There are no unrepaired cracks visible. The length of the back is 35,5 cm, the complete length is 59 cm. The sound of the violin is warm and strong.
