Up for Auction is a beautiful Tobacco Burst 2006 Gibson Les Paul Faded in essentially mint condition with original case. The guitar is all original and comes with the Gibson factory Burstbucker Pros. The guitar also comes with the unmounted factory pick guard in case you decide you'd prefer the guitar with the pickguard mounted on it.The Les Paul Faded Series was a Limited Edition Les Paul only offered for about 4 1/2 years and now more and more has come to be appreciated due to its unique finish and vintage look: The body of the guitar does not have thick paint or a heavy gloss finish which allows the wood to breathe. Additionally, the back and neck of the guitar are finished in a satin finish rather than with a heavy gloss finish that shows fingerprints and can inhibit smooth playing... Nothing like a satin finished neck for ease of play.The condition of this Faded is essentially mint. The only very minor playing flaw, and this is really nitpicking is a small spot below the strings between the pickups where the finish looks just a bit shiny when you look at it in bright light and at the perfect angle. It's hardly even mentionable or notable especially because it doesn't even really show because it's at the angled transition area of the carve but I like to point out the smallest of things so my customers can purchase with confidence. As far as Gibson factory flaws (and they exist on most), there's just a sliver of a spot near the binding down near the neck pocket where the factory missed with the stain but this is factory as it's under the satin finish... it's never bothered me and I'm quite picky. That's the critical review of any flaws on the guitar.The frets have no wear to speak of and the rosewood fretboard has a beautiful, even color. Look at the condition of the headstock in the pictures... The corners and sharp edges beautiful... No dings or scrapes anywhere to be found on the front or back of the headstock where other guitars typically have some type of damage/wear from leaning the guitar on things... None of that to be found on this headstock. The beautiful "Gibson" inlay is perfect.... nice and flush. Look at the rest of the pictures... This guitar looks incredible and truly plays as good as it looks!The top stain for the bursts on the Faded Series was done by hand. With the Burst being "handrubbed" on the Faded Series most of them came out looking somewhat uneven... It was the charm of this Series to some and perhaps an unappealing characteristic to others expecting the more precise "sprayed" bursts done on the other Les Pauls with all the paint on them; But, on this special guitar, the top on this Les Paul Faded is among the best I've ever seen on a Faded... and the Maple Flame-Top looks even nicer with more 3-D detail to see in person!The guitar essentially looks out of the wrapper from Gibson. You would really be incredibly hard-pressed to find another 10-Year Old Les Paul Faded in this kind of condition along with this nice of a flame top and hand-applied burst stain work.There is zero fret buzz on this Faded and the neck is incredibly playable... 60s Style so it's a fairly full-sized neck but not a "baseball bat". String bends are nice and easy. This Les Paul actually stays in tune extremely well too. The satin finish on the back of the neck, to me, is so much better than a painted and gloss-finished neck... it's truly a dream to play. Put your choice of strings on it and enjoy!The Fadeds are weight relieved and this one comes in under 8 Pounds, so if you want a Les Paul but don't want to wrench your back playing one, then this Les Paul is absolutely for you!So, bottom line, if you want to own one of the nicest Gibson Les Paul Faded guitars to come out of the Gibson factory, use the Buy It Now and make it yours!
