I've had this banjo for two years; I love the sound and quality. I have installed spikes at 7th and 9th frets. The head shows some use but not much really. I was playing it about 5 hours a week up until August when other things in my life took over. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and playing this banjo and I'm sure you will too. The case is original but has one flaw; it is cracked at the bottom. Not enough to cause it to be a problem but it is there.  I’ve included specs from Deering and a bit from Greg Deering about the banjo at the bottom. New this banjo is $2889.00 realistically they sell for $2395.00 I would like to ask $1995 for the banjo and case and feel that is a fair price. As for shipping I will offer 50/50 on the cost of shipping. This would be insured and shipped Fed Ex ground to anywhere in the U.S.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me on my cell phone, 540-760-3166, I live on the east coast so please don’t call too late J

"When I first introduced the Sierra I kept the cost down by keeping the cosmetics simple. I put the money into the pot assembly. I wanted to build a top professional banjo at a price that I could have afforded when I was a kid going to the music store on my way home from school every day.""The Sierra has been tremendously successful. But it is no longer cosmetically simple. With the implementation of new technology I have been able to make the Sierra exquisitely beautiful without raising the price. I have been greatly inspired by the artwork of the old masters of the Boston Banjo era from the turn of the last century. With this inspiration in my blood I have brought art to the Sierra that is usually reserved for banjos costing much, much more. So now the Sierra is a truly professional masterpiece of both sound and art at a price that is in your reach. We sell more Sierras than any other model and that makes it our flagship banjo!"Sincerely,
Greg Deering
