Upgraded Seymour Duncan SH-55 Humbuckers! Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. One of the best playing guitars I have ever had. The Neck is straight and "Feels" AWESOME! Near Perfection! The tone and sound from this Les Paul is "Classic" Let me tell you about this Guitar: Originally, Les Paul Deluxe's came with Mini-Humbuckers. A lot of players wanted the fuller sound of a standard Humbucker. This Les Paul has had "Full Size" Seymour Duncan SH-55 Pickups installed. The body has been routed to accommodate the larger pickups. The SH-55 is the perfect pickup for this guitar. Based on the original PAF Gibson Humbucker designed by Seth Lover back in 1955. Seymour Duncan designed this pickup as a tribute to Seth Lover who he regarded as his mentor. The Maple Top has been refinished. Awesome job. looks great. The back and sides are original finish. There must have been a coil tap on the front at one time. There is a hole between the volume and tone knobs that has been filled in and is an excellent repair. It is still visible. (See picture #9). The wiring is not all original. It appears that the pots are original along with the cloth braded wiring, but there seems to have been some wiring probably when the coil tap was installed. (See picture #9). The bridge and tail piece are not original.
Affordable Vintage USA Gibson Guitar!Player's Guitar. Not a Museum piece. This is a guitar that you can actually gig with. It is in really good "Player's Shape"Best of both worlds! Player or Collector. These 1970's Gibson's, especially a Les Paul, do nothing but appreciate in value. You will never lose money on this guitar if you ever decide to sell it.
Our luthier did a complete setup. Brand new strings were installed. Gig ready on Arrival!Cosmetics: Good Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 38 year old USA vintage guitar. The refinished front is decent condition. A few light scratches on the pickguard as well as on the front. The back has typical belt buckle rash scratches. The back of the neck has some small dings. (See pictures #5, #6). There are some scratches around the edges of the headstock. The Gibson Original Hard Shell Case has some scuffs scratches and minor tears in the tolex. Three of the 4 latches work. The latch at the end of the case does not work. The purple felt interior in decent condition. Very Authentic. The wear is what gives this Les Paul it's charm. Dripping with "Mojo" It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
