This guitar is a 2014 Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Model which I have modified. I purchased this guitar brand new in 2014. I played it at a local shop and fell in love with the neck (if you've never played an Eric Clapton soft V, do yourself a favor). In retrospect, it was a bit of an impulse buy and shortly after, it sat in the case for the next year. I then decided to completely work over the guitar. I removed all the active electronics, sent the body to 'MJT agedfinishes' to strip the thick black poly and refinish with nitro in inca silver (I also had the Custom Shop logo and Eric Clapton signature removed from back of head stock and re finished). Upon it's return (3 months later) I had my local luthier install Porter vintage style pick ups and give it a complete set up with all new vintage style wiring, lefty CTS pots, .047uF 630VDC Jensen Aluminum Foil Paper Oil Signal Capacitor, new bone nut, replacement nickel heel plate and new pick guard. (I can send pictures of interior of guitar upon request). But all is in order, my luthier does beautiful work. The neck has a light factory satin poly finish that has been lightly tinted with polish. Factory tuners, 9.5 radius, vintage frets ...plays very smooth. I originally paid over $4,000 for this guitar and easily dumped close to another $1,000 with the refinish work, rewiring, set up ect. The guitar sounds and plays killer and was really a labor of love to do this work. But, I'm still not playing it! (through this process I have stuck with my Telecasters!!) So my loss is your gain. *PLEASE NOTE, CASE IN PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE* I have a 70's strat case that I will ship it in. (sorry, case in picture is not original to the guitar) However, all accessories in pictures are included.
