Yamaha YTR-6345G Bb trumpet. Serial number 002370. Medium weight, large bore, Monel pistons. Same features as the 6335, but with a larger .462 bore and a gold brass bell for a fuller, broader sound. A single brace on the tuning slide creates moderate resistance for a slightly darker sound. Yamaha’s 6000 line were the brand’s top professional level horns until the introduction of the Xeno line and are still well regarded. New, these horns retail between $2,000 and $2,200. This horn has extensive lacquer wear, especially on the valves, and one small ding in the outer rim of the bell. All slides move freely and valves have good compression. There is no pitting outside or green rot inside – the visible wear does not affect play. Case with a similar level of wear but structurally sound is included, as is a Yamaha 9C4 mouthpiece. Please examine pictures as they are part of the description of this instrument. Bottom line, this is a really ugly horn that plays really great. This trumpet is no gig horn, but would be ideal for an intermediate student who is ready to transition to a pro level horn without the pro expense. Horn is sold AS IS, low starting price, no reserve. I am a musician but not a trumpet player – this is my son’s old horn. I have described this instrument to the best of my ability but I am not an expert. Also, please note my home has dogs; the interior of this case will be vacuumed before shipping but be aware if allergies are a concern. Please ask questions before you bid and please contact me before thinking of negative feedback. I am proud of my 100% positive rating and will work to keep it that way.
