Unique, carved, relic'd, antique style cello from recycle artist J. Quantrell (hot horns/upright bass/vocalist Bossophone).Custom modified, carved body w. 3 sound holes (center, left & right), custom tailpiece, unique head stock. Covered w. scroll marquetry inlay look designs. Plenty of aged, relic'd beauty, rubbed off edges & few scars on various spots. Neck is straight, fret board is in good condition, extra heavy tuning keys work well. Well made adjustable tailpiece adds nice sustain. G sound hole is capped w. thin, metal resonator for enhanced tone.Measures 44" total length, not including adjustable leg, fret board measures 20" long, body is 9" wide & 4" deep.Beautiful, olde-fashioned appearance & enhanced sound character, unusual, antique body shape plus added mass makes this instrument have a ringing, sustained, tonality. A brittle, durable, water proof, industrial coating protects it's beauty & helps give it a crisp, moaning tone. Aged, yellowed appearance in finish is intentional to add to it's aged look. A stylish addition to any collection.Custom parts are not removable (I've had purchase/pirate/resell/repair messes).
