Selmer Radio Improved alto sax
#19xxx from 1934
I can't say what's up with the lacquer although I tend to think it is original. The engraving is crisp and the color looks right. The stamp on the neck looks very crisp and original but presume it is a relacquer as I just don't know for certain..
The pads may or may not be original but it has a full set of the original metal resos that can be reused.
The horn needs a full overhaul. I can play it partially and it has a rich , powerful and complex tone as one would expect of this great era of Selmers.
The body is physically in outstanding shape. No dents, no repairs or resolders, no pull down to the neck. It is missing the guidepost on the neck for the octave lever. This is best addressed by your tech at the time of overhaul.
Have it set up to your tastes with the pads you like, springs, key heights etc to your tastes by your tech.
The case is not original it is a zippered Mark VI era case in fair but clean and functional condition. The zipper works fine.No Reserve Auction!!!PLEASE CHECK MY FEEDBACK-I SELL SAXOPHONES AND HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK!!!
