PRS is known for many positive attributes, one of my favorites is the suggestion that it looks as if it was dipped in glass in order to create it's luxurious gleaming surface....this singlecut is no exception. The blood-red color is beautiful with black accents, being the pickups and pots. Individually, this guitars cosmetics are exceptional and unique. The maple front is made with one piece of wood, as opposed to the common method of book-end-joining, that leaves a seam down the center of the front. It gives her a flowing continuous look, artistically. Practically speaking, the sustain is enhanced due to the seamless design. Look at the pictures, it's not difficult to see that the front is a mixture of flame and quilt....a characteristic that is usually reserved for the more expensive 'artistic' series. Back in the 90s, I asked a teacher about this emerald colored PRS I saw on the wall of the shop in which he worked and I learned. He said, "they are amazing guitars, the notes just fly and swirl off these guitars, like no other", to this day I couldn't agree more. This guitar sounds very alive, all my PRSs do, a tone I struggle to capture with other guitars. Importantly, I am an absolute extremists in my care for guitars. I keep them in a temperature controlled room with a humidifier and a dehumidifier that work in concert to preserve the wood. I wipe down the strings and the body after I play. I clean them regularly with Virtuoso products. I don't gig...they stay at home, I don't smoke...nor does anybody else in my house and they live in their cases when I'm not playing them. So there you have it....gorgeous, lively, unique and well-cared for. What else is there?
