Description Brand: Gibson Exact Year: 1940
1940's Gibson Ultratone Lap Steel GuitarPRICE REDUCED!! Here's a fantastic Gibson Ultratone. I believe this one to be a 1947 or 1948, although it's a difficult thing to demonstrate on this model. This example is in really nice condition, with some honest play wear but no abuse. It has a nick or two, and a few places where the finish has thinned from playing, but nothing significant - just normal and expected for a nearly 70 yr old guitar. Key to this one is that all the plastic parts are complete and intact. The flip cover over the tuning machines has a small fracture, but it seems tight and it still functions exactly as it should - see pic. Most all of these I've seen for sale have broken hinges on either the headstock flip cover or the pickup flip cover. Often, these pieces are just gone. There is the expected finish checking (it's 65 - 70 years old). Other than that, it's really in uncommonly good shape. This one edfsven has the original case keys in the sealed envelope from Gibson.I plugged her in yesterday and not only is it fully functional, but the tone is really clean and glassy. What a nice sound! The hard case is original and I'm including all the previous owner's accessories. Some of the old finger picks are really cool. The slide bar has a lot of wear on the chrome where it contacts the strings. I think this was probably owned by a professional, or at least someone who played it publicly and often. Also, I think it came from Montana, based on docs found in the case. Don't settle for a lesser Ultratone - this one is all there, all correct, all original, and you won't find a better example. Sweet, sweet steel. Shipping to continental USA ONLY. NO international sales. Prefer PayPal for payment. Bid with confidence - In 15 years with Ebay I've never had a negative feedback.
