Here's a very special one up for grabs!Please note that you can have a $150 discount if you don't want to get any of the electronics+pickguard+pickups.This is a 2015 Warmoth USA Stratocaster replacement body made of only 2-pieces alder.It is lightweight at just 3 lbs 15oz without any hardware and, since it's a hardtail, the fully assembled guitar will be a good 1/2 lbs lighter than one with a tremolo.It has a 9V battery box readily accessible at the back, it is much more convenient than having to unscrew the tremolo covers screws of an Eric Clapton Strat over and over again.It was covered with 23K genuine gold leaves and finished in candy tangerine polyurethane color and clear coat, it's hard to get much more custom than that!While I could have used imitation leaves, real leaves never oxidize, have a much nicer shine and texture, and add an extra $160 worth of gold leaves (which is still much cheaper than the candy tangerine finish itself)
It's very hard to show how deep the finish looks in person, there is a real metallic and 3 dimensional look to it that is unlike regular paint. Here's a video of it: The body was completed and finished in July 2015. I'm selling it as I may want to experiment with other color schemes and gilding techniques.
It is fully loaded with hardware and electronics:Fender Eric Clapton 25db midboost circuit with Fender 250k no-load control potHot Gold Lace Sensors pickupsFender gold neck plate and screwsFender 57 pickguard and full size aluminum pickguard shieldGold hardtail bridge (narrow string spacing), vintage style strap, and string ferrulesThere are a few finish imperfections I'd like to mention: some touched up areas around the bridge's corners, neck plate border, and one of the string ferrules where the final sanding went through the orange color coat (but not the leaves).
Those are very much impossible to see once the hardware is installed.There are also couple other minor scratches/dings around the cut away that are also next to impossible to see and I included pictures of those whenever possible.The price is adjusted accordingly and well below cost, it costs well over $1000: the body alone with gold hardware was $290, the gold leaves were $160, the candy tangerine finish was another $350, Fender Clapton 25dB midboost circuit at $55, Hot Gold Lace Sensors for $150, pickguard/aluminum shield/fender knobs/switch/etc...
So, in the end it would cost you over $1000 to get the same body, and that's excluding labor (it takes a good 2-3 hours to apply the gold leaves and gilding size).Below are more pictures of the body showing the gilding process and including additional pictures.
