A superb quality Model 10a Wheatstone 48 key English Baritone concertina, number 28615. This was made during the golden age of concertina manufacturing, circa 1920, when Wheatstone craftsmanship was at its best. Raised Ebony ends, silver keys, steel reeds, 6 fold bellows. Three octaves and three notes. From G on the first line of the bass clef. This concertina has a rich, pure tone, especially in the lower register, making it suitable for playing classical repertoire but it is also rapid and responsive enough for playing reels and jigs. The instrument has been recently overhauled - tuning, pads, valves, action - and is in perfect playing condition. The bellows are in perfect condition. They are airtight and have no patches. The ebony ends have been repolished.
