isnw_ecp Up for sale is my Matt Nolan Hand Gong that was made in the Bath, UK from bronze alloy. Weight 16 lbs. Shipped: 36 lbs. Height: 39-¼” X Width: 29-¼” Current price is $3600+ in USA dollars. Matt has produced a few more of this type but they are not color detailed and ground like mine plus this gong is number 1 of Matt's large hand gongs. This is the very first 40” heat-colored large hand gong that Matt produced. Originally, I had contacted Matt after seeing a small hand gong that he had produced. I asked him whether he’d be interested in producing a much larger version, and Matt eagerly agreed to my request. He made one, uncolored, but didn’t think the sound matched my desires, so he made a second one, which he liked and then heat-treated to achieve the desired colors. Matt hand delivered this gong to me when he visited Chicago, IL to attend a percussion show where he exhibited his instruments in the Midwest for the first time.
Matt has made a few of these hand gongs since mine was fabricated but none of them approach the beauty of this gong.
