Developed and designed in partnership with Jack Casady, bass player for such groundbreaking bands as Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, this semi-acoustic-electric bass gives you a great mix of clarity, punch, and bite. A hollow cavity gives the Jack Casady Signature Bass a natural woody voice, and a special pickup with a VariTone control lets you dial in a huge range of tones. What was refurbished on this guitar: When this guitar came in from the factory, the only issues found by the authorized refurbisher were that the stock JCB-1 pickup was missing and there was a minor lacquer crack at the heel joint. An OEM chrome-covered low-impedance pickup was installed in place of the stock pickup (very similar sound). The lacquer crack was expertly repaired by the refurbisher - completely sealed and re-finished (see photo). No other repairs or modifications were made to the guitar. Aside from these minor issues, it looks and plays like new. Back of the headstock is stamped "used" and original serial # has been replaced with a new one.
