I always like a "funky" archtop with lots of "vintage character & personality" because they have the best sound and are totally "broken in"; but not really damaged at all, - and they cost less bec of the condition so to speak, but it's the SOUND that these babies are all about. I have a whole collection of these funky archtops (along with some of my high-end instruments as well, and I love all of them, especially for their SOUND.These "rough" ones have lots of personality to them.(apologies for the clarity of 1 or 2 of the photos, but my camera is slightly "on the fritz" lately; -  there is however enough info in the pictures to see the quality). This fancy 16" carved top Archtop has plenty of enjoyable little dings and scratches to ponder & enjoy, plus a good repair of the genuine Blackstone original rare-material Black Pickguard. It's like some rare Opal-like jewel. The XLNT neck & fingerboard however are surprisingly very smooth and free of any dings or blemishes at all.Comes with a great original vintage Epi arched case, with a light tan felt lining and the internal E Logo, and a fantastic strong leather covered big handle. (I love old cases like this, it's like a fetish or something). (A solid  rare collectible old case like this is worth a few hundred bucks in and of itself.Features the golden era highly desirable Epiphone carved headstock Logo with the "Pointy P, Open E" .All orig. hardware: Tuning machines and Frequensator Tailpiece, pickguard bracket. (all very coolReally nice Large size frets plus there is minimal fingerboard wear of the high grade Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard  with the genuine mother of pearl parallelogram (or trapezoid) inlays position markers. The inlays are all good and only the one at the top of the neck is blurred in the photo but no problem in person. The Mahogony neck side dots have been upgraded with some unique domed elevated silver metal side dots, which work great for "feeling" the tactile position when playing, ...+ they look very cool. Easily removed with no sign of their existence if desired; they're glued on securely with easily removeable water soluble white glue (Elmer's). These custom dots are an xlnt feature of this guitar and you will like them; don't worry. guaranteed.Neck profile/relief is perfect & plays true up and down the neck. This old archtop has the original carved Rosewood bridge ( wh is unfortunately often missing on many of these old archtops, (but it's here on this one)Beauty famous Epi flamed woods. Maple Sides and Back, Spruce Top & solid Mahogony neck, make for a great SOUND combo that picks up all variety of harmonic overtones. Plus the feature of no decorative binding in the F-holes really opens up the sound by letting the top vibrate more freely, just like on a fine violin or cello ( which is what the old Epi Co. "House of Stathopoulo" was famous for making (since 1873), so they knew what they were doing when making an F-hole stringed instrument, and they had the skills & best instrument grade Aged Woods to do it with.)A real natural Blonde.Price recently increased due to realization of how good and rare this axe is. (& the price will go up in the future, as the vintage market realizes that the old Epi's in general were in a class by themselves as musical instruments, not just collectors items like some of the other big "names" like Stromberg & D'Angelico & even Gibson These are ok, don't get me wrong, but they are not the great sounding & playing instruments that the old Epi's were (& are. - in fact they're better with age, - there's no substitute for good ol' time to age top quality instrument grade woods like the ones the old Epi company had access to.(They were a quality cello company since the late 1800's).
Enjoy (to whoever ends up with this loveable "funky" great sounding blonde baby out of the golden past,Best Wishes,Ozzy
