Description
Brand: Buescher Skill Level: Professional
Body Finish: Silver plated gold wash bell Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

For sale is a true jazz classic alto saxophone coming up 80 years old. This is a Buescher True Tone Aristocrat slant signature model from the height of their production in 1938. This has all original snap in dome resonators on a recently installed set of Black kangaroo SaxGourmet pads. Norton screw in springs. A great playing saxophone with average wear for its age. There are minor flaws to the body but overall it is in excellent shape. It was replated around 20 years ago except for the bell gold plating which was left original. This was originally owned by a professional lead alto player and I used it on lead alto in AUSTRALIA, around the world and on cruise ships. I think it plays the best out of any of the Buescher altos I have played. 287XXX serial number late '38. This model was the choice of many fine players including the late Sigurd Rascher and Johnny Hodges. In the 30s and 40s this is the model Hodges played on many of the classic Duke Ellington recordings from those decades.Comes in a 20 year old Hiscock pro lite flight case in fine condition.
