This is a professional concert instrument bought from Buckingham Music back in 2001. It's a one piece toon wood sarod with the best quality materials. In a workshop with Aashish Khan (son of Ali Akbar Khan), he tried it out and thought it was a fine instrument.I have owned it since 2001 and have kept it in its case most of the time as I am a guitar player enamoured with the sound of the sarod but, after the workshop with Ashish Khan, decided that it took all of my time to get any good at it and went back to the guitar. The sarod needs to have a few strings replaced and I'm sending a full set of strings plus several coconut shell picks along with the case.These sarods, new, are running around $1600 to $1700 however, with woods not as good and the sound has developed in this instrument to a great level. This is a great sarod with a deep sound that will move your soul. I have priced the sarod at a very good price for a quick sale as I'm thinning my collection of instruments.I will ship for a flat fee of $25 to the US lower 48 states. International shipping will be quoted on a case-by-case basis and buyer is responsible for all taxes and duties.Happy Bidding!
