Relatively rare mid eighties Vintage Japan made KM 1500 in excellent condition with original case. Plays and sounds sweet! serial number is 87.1.02 Made in the Japan factory by Sumi i'm told. Spruce Top (Sitka) Bound White Ivoroid Inlaid Pear "The Kentucky" Maple Back and sides Inside the top is braced with very small tones bars showing the Loar influence. In their efforts to achieve authenticity I'm told Sumi got his Maple from the same Michigan Maple that provided lumber too the original Loar F-5's. Sumi still makes the F-5 for around $4000.00.
