Up for sale we have a beautiful vintage Selmer professional low C bass clarinet. According to the serial number this instrument was made in 1955, and is the first model of low C bass clarinet sold by Selmer. The instrument features unplated nickel silver keys and a beautiful Grenadilla wood body. It has a fully automatic double register mechanism and and adjustable tuning slide on the neck. This instrument is in good condition and plays well. The pads are not new but they are not extremely old, although there may be a few small leaks. The instrument is not perfect so you may want to have the instrument set up by your local repair man, but as is the instrument does play. There are no cracks or chips but there are scratches and dings from normal use. The tenon corks are fairly worn so you may want to replace them, but this is fairly easy to do. For an instrument that is more than 60 years old it is in great shape. This instrument comes with a lyre and the original case.
