Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With good reason, the Vibrolux is currently one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Perfect for handling all of your favorite effects pedals and pushing just under 40 tube watts through a pair of original Fender labeled 10" Jensen C10N speakers, the Vibrolux is the perfect platform for getting the most out of variety of guitars and stompboxes. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that's loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has soft attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo! This Vibrolux has just been gone through by one of our best techs and is 100% stock, aside from a couple new components in the tremolo circuit. Even the original filter caps are intact, work well, and show no signs of leakage. The stock transformers date to mid 1966, and all of the blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface tone are intact. The chassis stamp and CTS pots also date to '66. The pair of likely original RCA 6L6GC power tubes still sound wonderful, and three RCA 12AX7 preamp tubes are present as well, along with one Mullard and a pair of newer JJ 12AT7s.The original Jensen 10" speakers sound fantastic with clean Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, and these are some of the rarest and most valuable speakers you can find in a Vibrolux, with more hi-fi top end clarity and headroom than the more common Oxfords. Both speakers retain their original cones and sound nicely broken in, with smooth highs and focused low end. The tube chart is intact and in great shape as well, toting the AA864 circuit. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are in exceptional shape, with only one notable scuff on the top of the amp and light aging of the grillcloth. All of the stock hardware is intact including the raised Fender logo on the face of the amp, chassis straps, handle and both back panels. There is light surface rust on some of the hardware, and two of the knobs are genuine vintage replacement witch hats to match the otherwise original set of knobs. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Please check out our shop "Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.399.8518.
Shipping in the continental USA will be by FedEx Ground and will be $105, fully insured. We use double thick boxes, 1" foam and industrial 1/2" bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. We will happily ship WORLDWIDE, but please contact us for an accurate international shipping quote before bidding or buying, as cost varies by buyer location.International orders will be declared as “merchandise,” and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid.
