BUY WITH CONFIDENCE CHECK OUT OUR GUITAR SELLING FEEDBACK!! 8413 PLUS TRADES AND COUNTING...WE SPECIALISE IN JAPANESE AND KOREAN GUITARS.EMAIL: riffmusic@live.atThis is a pre owned JAPANESE FENDER Made In Japan STRATOCASTER '62RI GUITAR FINISHED IN SONIC BLUE even though the finishes are poly, they're very highly prone to yellowing, so the white Strats can end up looking blonde and thees Sonic blues can end up looking Sea Foam or Surf green...which creates confusion regarding some now instruments, which are purely a result of colour ageing. in ALL ORIGINAL "NATUARAL LIGHT RELIC'D" condition. BUILT BETWEEN 1996/97, IN JAPAN, in the FUJI-GEN GAKKI Plant. Made In Japan and Serial number V 006016 printed on the BACK OF THE HEEL ON THE NECK. Classic Sonic Blue, 3 Ply, 11 hole Scratchplate, Naturally aged creamy Pick up Covers and Dials. (The Guitar Comes with the Original Whammy bar.) As regards some of the more specific factors/features which defined a '62 Strat as a '62 Strat, that the Fender MIJ '62 Strat reissues like this guitar will always have will have...
A 'slab'-type (thick) rosewood fretboard with truss rod adjustment at the body end of the neck, no truss access above the nut, and no 'skunk' stripe on the back of the neck. A honey-coloured finish on the maple areas of the neck (as opposed to pale, unstained wood).Truss Rod Adjustment at the heel end of the neck next to the front edge of the sctratchplate. Three single coil pickups with staggered-height alnico (mid-greyish), unchamfered pole-pieces.A 3-ply white/black/white (or, from early 1992, green/black/green fake nitrate) scratchplate - held to the body with 11 screws.A vintage tremolo/vibrato bridge held to the body with six crosshead, dome-top screws, and featuring Fender-branded saddles.A pre-1964 style 'spaghetti' Fender logo on the headstock.Generous body contouring with plenty of arm and chest relief, and usually, relatively light weight.Individual routings in the body for each pickup - i.e. not a universal 'swimming pool' routing.Kluson-style vintage machine heads with nickel plating, oval pegs, and no branding.A blank or 'FENDER' branded neckplate, with both 'Made in Japan' and the serial number on the back of the neck just above its join with the body.A single nickel plated string guide on the headstock.Standard finishes on the UK market were: 3-Tone Sunburst, Black, Olympic White, Candy Apple Red (metallic), and Sonic Blue. Fugi-Gen had made arguably some of the best strats that Fender ever put their name to and this guitar plays every bit as well as many USA standards that we have had in the store.Japanese original 250k Ohm Pots and 5 way switch. The Guitar also has the Vintage style 3 single pickup routing and a Trem/ Bridge with Fender Stamped saddles and cast Fat Block Trem.Even though the ‘evolved’ electrics setup on the MIJ '62 Reissue Strats is not technically accurate to the original 62 USA strats, it still gives a very similar tone to the authentic electrics, because wire is wire, a switch is a switch, and the pickups still have the crucial staggered alnico V magnets. So...the pickups used here by FUJI-GEN are staggered Pole. We know about the full, fat bluesy tones of these pups but do Staggered Pole Magnetic Pieces this make a difference tonally?? Pickups are of course a very personal feature but we feel that,.. Yes they do.Pole piece height is a "natural EQ" of sorts, and fortunately can be explained in very simple terms. If all the poles are even height ("flat"), the first immediate difference is that you'll probably hear more bass frequency response, mainly because the string balance as far as volume is concerned is even across all the strings. With staggered poles on the other hand, you'll notice that the poles mounted higher are almost always in the middle of the pickup, and in addition it's very typical that the pole under the G string will be mounted highest, making the G the loudest string compared to the rest. Staggered poles are very much the "foundation" of classic Fender solid-body electric guitar tone, the classic Fender sound that we now know comes from pickups that use staggered pole pieces.Does this mean the Strat naturally has unbalanced string volume? Answer...Yes. But that's the way most "Strat enthusiasts" prefer them to sound. The louder-than-usual G string has become an integral it's a part of a Strat's "personality"...it 's advantage: is the "bell-like chime" Strats and Teles are known for. Lower strings never overpower the overall sound. The disadvantage is again... that the G string is loud by design, and staggered poles do typically sound a little less compared to flat-pole because of the string imbalance. Again, this is by design but that's what classic Fender sound is supposed to be.The Neck is a One piece maple with skunk stripe and is described as a C shaped like the modern strats but still pretty slim. I find it really comfortable and super smooth. NOW TO OVERALL CONDITION:Please look at these Hi Def images... this guitar is in very nice order throughout. there are a few knocks here and there where its been played but thats what its for! and it is 20 years old! They are close ups and show you everything ...We Never hide anything from you!! 96/97 Fender MIJ STRAT 62 RI
