Rare vintage Star Field Firebird Reverse presumed to be from 1977 based on first two serial numbers are 77. Star Field was a brand made by Hoshino Gakki in Japan. It was a lesser known brand and therefore considerably more rare than Hoshino's more prominent lines. However, except for the truss rod cover imprint, it is virtually the same guitar. It's also virtually identical to an Ibanez. This guitar has a beautiful mahogany body that is correctly terraced front and back. Contour cutaway. Huge range up the neck. Very light with a thinline style body. The tailpiece cover has the lyre engraving more-or-less identical to the Gibson/Ibanez version. It is body is naturally reliced showing nicks, dings and buckle rash but the frets have plenty of life left and everything works as it should. Chrome pieces are in very good overall condition considering their age. The pick guard is a reproduction of the original. Stays in tune remarkably well. Overall a very cool looking guitar with tons of personality. Includes cool original plush lined case in great condition except for where a four inch portion of the metal edging has separated from the case. From a pet and smoke free environment.
