Completely gutted about losing this unit, but I’m relocating overseas next year so the funds raised here will go toward a one-way ticket.   My first ever synth, extremely well-cared for during its time in my smoke-free studio. Never gigged. Purchased from original owner. Serviced every couple of years to maintain reliability. That being said, I’ve never had an issue with this unit whatsoever. As you can see, it’s in fantastic shape. It sounds amazing.   Integrates with the modular / CV based setup effortlessly. On-board sequencer is super simple, but also very effective. With all the menu diving and complex onboard sequencing on synths these days, it’s a rare treat to have something immediate that gets results quickly and without much thought at all.   With the 101, the real beauty is getting lost in your creativity – not having to think about which button gets you to which menu blah blah blah. It’s all right in front of you here – immediate results.  There are lots of tricks to discover that arise from its CV inputs / outputs and Clock In, but that’s for your to discover – I won’t spoil it.   All sliders / pots in tip-top shape, and the slider moves around like it just came out of the box – I’ve seen so many of these units over the years take a beating – broken sliders, missing buttons. That’s not the case with this particular unit – when not in use, the unit has always been turned off and covered to keep dust off the key contacts and also to prevent buildup in/around the sliders.  Also included pics of the battery compartment - this can be a major disaster if batteries have leaked out over the years. I’ve never put batteries in this unit, and I don’t believe the previous owner did either.   When you make an investment in vintage gear like this, it’s super important to know everything you can about the unit, including cosmetic issues.  That being said, there is one cosmetic issue – albeit small.   I’m not even sure that it’s even noticeable, but it’s worth noting either way. There’s a close-up pic of the right side of the unit, where it shows all the jacks and such. If you look at the panel alongside where the “Output” jack is, you can see an ever so slight discoloration at the edge of that panel. I was told by the original owner that this keyboard was stored under his bed for 10+ years, never played. When he sold this to me, he included the original soft carrying case that was made for it. Over the years of it being stored inside of this case, the padding in the case caused that slight discoloration on the panel. Rest assured, this has nothing to do with the overall performance or reliability.   Other than this aforementioned issue, you’d be hard-pressed to find a scratch on it. You won’t be disappointed.   I got rid of the original power supply b/c it was too short and I needed a longer version. Comes with a One-Spot PSU which is much longer if you’re power outlet is far away. I think I still have the original Roland PSU if you’re really nostalgic about that kind of thing. Let me know if this interests you and I can try and find it.   Lastly, I realize that my asking price is on the higher end of the spectrum. In my opinion, a “good deal” on vintage gear has little to do with its price tag. Sure you may find one of these for a couple of hundred bucks cheaper, but do you know the backstory of the unit? How many times has it changed hands? Have there been issues of reliability? These were originally produced in the early 1980’s, and they’re becoming harder and harder to find in tip-top shape. Knowing that you’re inheriting something has been properly cared for is a rarity. You do get what you pay for, and that’s no different here.   Please let me know if you have any questions.   As with the nature of vintage gear, all sales are final. Buy with confidence – feel free to check my feedback.Unit will be professionally packed up and shipped out promptly upon payment.
