This is an example of the first generation 1970s Asturias Workshop Guitars. This one is unique in that the label is hand signed by Matsuro Matano indicating his personal workmanship. It features a solid cedar top w/ 2 ply-Brazilian Rosewood sides and back.Ebony fingerboard and a Brazilian Rosewood Bridge. 655mm scale length and also upgraded tuners possibly Rubners. The sound is very warm Spanish style with excellent treble and bass response and powerful projection. Top has a repaired hairline from the back of the bridge to the end of the bout has been glued and cleated and is tight...Otherwise condition is excellent.I normally ask $1,400 for a hand signed Matano but given the repair and cosmetics only $800 even tho that didnt change the sound. Matano left in 1980 and the later Asturias guitars were good but not quite the same as during his era, especially the handbuilt ones by Matano himself like this one..Comes with a 70s HSC in good condition possibly original?
