This is a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute 5x14 Snare Drum from the personal collection of world famous Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. Made by Yamaha with custom name plate badge reading "Jimmy Chamberlin." This was part of a full set of drums made for Jimmy for the recording of the Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist album. I purchased the full set from the now defunct Drum Pad in Palatine, IL in 2010. They were selling three of Jimmy Chamberlin's kits on consignment for him at that time. The set was used for the recording of the album (it can be seen in the side of the CD cover). I do not know the specifics of what tracks this drum may or may not have been used on for the recording.The drum has a maple shell, nouveau lugs, and standard Yamaha snare wires. Still has the original Yamaha logo Remo head. Very nice sounding snare with a clear, warm, articulate sound and woody crack. It is in excellent condition with no cosmetic issues.Just in time for Christmas for that huge Jimmy Chamberlin fan in your life!
