Wonderful and Unique Rudall Carte Flute

Category: Flutes
Class:
Description Brand: Rudall Carte Skill Level: Intermediate to Professional Body Material: Ebonite Key Type: Open Hole Sterling Silver Type: Boehm style soprano Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom Headjoint Material: Ebonite
For your consideration is one of the most unique and most enjoyable of all the Rudall Carte flutes I have owned: An ebonite flute with open hole sterling silver keys that plays beautifully at modern pitch with a full and rich sound that easily surpasses all expectations. Repadded and fully adjusted by Arthur Haswell, one of the world's leading repairmen of antique flutes, this flute bears lovely open hole keywork transplanted from an earlier instrument to a very nice ebonite body and headjoint. Most of the ebonite flutes I have played have had a rather sweet and ethereal sound, but this impressive instrument, in part due to the oversized toneholes, has a strong, lyric voice that sings easily through all registers! With a sounding length of 600mm, it also plays right on at modern pitch of a=440. Comes in its original case that includes a nicely turned wood cleaning rod. You will not find a better ebonite instrument. This is one of the few open hole Cartes I have owned, and it is a real player's player. If you love antique flutes as much as I do, you need to own this for your collection. If you simply love to play these treasures from the past, you also need this one!
