Description

Uncle Lou here; and you're admiring an original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard that was previously owned by the late-great Gary Moore. This guitar is featured on his 'After Hours' record and promotional posters, as well as the cover art for the singles "Cold Day in Hell", "Since I Met You Baby", and "Story Of The Blues". Gary can be seen playing this guitar in the videos for 'Cold Day In Hell', 'Since I Met You Bay' with BB KIng, 'Separate Ways', as well as some live footage from NYC 1992. I also have a few magazines containing photos of Gary with the guitar, as well as interviews where he mentions the guitar, and the serial number is listed as well. All of the aforementioned materials are included with this; no question this was Gary's burst and he liked to show it off! Aside from the rock-star provenance, this is actually a nice respectable burst in its own right. It's got a pretty sunburst finish faded to a pale cherry-burst over a mild-moderately figured top with good depth. The overall condition is pretty good, showing signs of honest playing wear, dings, and checking. It's been re-fretted with wire that is slightly larger than original, but smaller than '59 wire. There's lots of height left on the wire so it plays nice and it weighs a comfortable 8.8 pounds. It had Grover tuners on it at one time, but the guitar is now set up the way Gary played it with mid-60's double-ring double-line Kluson tuners, but I also have proper original tuners in the case. The PAF pickups read 8.0k ohms at the bridge, and 7.6k ohms at the neck...the covers have been off & on again, and the sound of this burst is AMAZING!!! Here's your chance to own a piece of rock history for much less than Gary's '59 burst sold for! Please ask all reasonable questions before you bid, I will not accept returns. PayPal is the 'eBay preferred' method of payment, but on such an expensive item, I would require a $5,000 deposit paid immediately through PayPal, and the balance to be paid via direct deposit or 'payment on pickup'. Domestic delivery & handling fee is $500, and international delivery & handling is $1,500, but that money would be spent on a plane ticket...NO SHIPPING THIS GUITAR! Once again, an item this fragile and expensive should be hand-delivered by me or you. Under no circumstances should FedEx, UPS, DHL, or USPS be trusted with something like this; I won't take responsibility for their negligence...THIS MUST BE HAND-DELIVERED!!! Buyers who come to NYC to pick up this guitar will be refunded $500 for domestic travel costs, or $1,500 for international traveling costs. For those of you who need more visual stimulation, I have giant sized photos that I can e-mail you, but please don't waste my time or yours; serious inquiries only...no tourists. Thanks for looking and have a great day! PS. I also have another four '58-'60 bursts in stock starting at $250k-up...serious inquiries only please!!!
