Retail: $1830MSRP: $1430 Condition: New, fully warranted I thought the column array MAUI systems were phenomenal units with clear sounds and easy portability and connectivity and creativity…That is until I tried their CURV system 500. This system just takes things another step further. The sound is clear and you can get a good bit of punch from this system. It is very portable. All the pieces fit into two well designed carrying bags. All four of the array speakers snap together. Actually you don’t even need to use all four at once. There is a receiver base and you can snap one, two, three or all four units into it. The subwoofer alo packs the controls for the system with a nice 3 channel mixer and some effects and a control that identifies how many of the array speakers are being used. This unit also controls if you use any slave units. There is an optional system that looks identical but without the mixer that can be run by this unit if you decide you need more volume or spread. With the CURV 500®, LD Systems presents the first really portable array with WaveAhead® technology for high-definition audio quality with an amazing sound pressure and excellent balance. Thanks to the expandable vertical and horizontal coverage, the system is completely scalable. The unibody aluminium construction of the CURV 500® array satellites sets new standards and is essential for the outstanding sound quality of the system. The unique SmartLink® plug-and-play adapter also offers numerous mounting options. For all-in-one comfort, the 4-channel mixer integrated in the CURV 500® provides a range of digital effects, as well as modern Bluetooth® wireless technology. Three sets are available for mobile and fixed installation. They feature a low weight and a wide, far-ranging sound dispersion. Thanks to optional extensions, the systems can be perfectly expanded further. Black and white housing designs for the AV Set allow for harmonious integration into the surrounding architecture. The CURV 500® Entertainer Set consists of a high-performance 10" bass reflex subwoofer and an easily configurable array system with four satellites. Featuring a power of 460 watts RMS and a maximum sound pressure level of 128 dB, the CURV 500® ES Set is the ideal sound system for small events or conferences and meetings. The compact, transport-friendly CURV 500® is an array system with 4 interlocking satellites, which are operated via a SmartLink® adapter. The elements, only 12 x 12 cm in size, are equipped with LD System's own WaveAhead® technology. One 4" and three 1" drivers provide a coherent and extremely detailed playback with high pressure and dynamics. The 10" bass-reflex subwoofer houses the Class D power amplifier and includes a limiter, protection against short circuit, overheating, over-voltage, as well as a 4-channel mixer with 16 digital effect presets and Bluetooth®. Combo, and Speakon- compatible sockets offer extensive connectivity options, and the subwoofer features four digital system presets, an M20 threaded flange and three ergonomic carrying handles. The Entertainer Set can be operated in stereo mode with a total of eight array satellites (max. four on each side). This variant is particularly useful in voice applications, where bass playback is not in the foreground. Speakers or moderators especially appreciate the clarity, transparency and typical benefits of array systems. With the Power Extension set, the Entertainer Set can provide even more power at any time, especially in the bass range, thus expanding to a high-performance Power Set.
