During the 30's, Madame F.BESSON was looking for a manufacturer for producing the French F.BESSON trumpets and then selected the best of them, the "STRASSER MARIGAUX LEMAIRE COMPANY". Then, they selected afterwards the famous brass Manufacturer, Alfred AUBERTIN - who was manufacturing the MEHA BESSON Trumpets under license-. for manufacturing the STRASSER MARIGAUX LEMAIRE trumpets, cornets and flugelhorns. Later, in front of the success they met, Alfred Aubertin and his son started their own company with their own Brass Lines under their own Brand, AUBERTIN. * Alfred Aubertin was born in 1874 in France. He worked at Antoine Courtois's Workshops before starting up his own Company. His son Louis will work with his father to 1957 till Alfred died. It is important to know that most of the trumpet players like Maurice André or Roger Delmotte in this period, were playing the Aubertin trumpets. * In the Guy Touvron' s book relating Maurice André Biography, it is said : "Raymond Sabarich ( Maurice André's Teacher at the Paris Conservatory) asked firmly to Maurice André to change his Aubertin Trumpet to play with a Selmer one." (Mr Sabarich was also a Tester for SELMER COMPANY). Maurice André felt he had to do so in order to please his Teacher, but apart from him, Maurice André was still playing with his beloved Aubertin, as he considered that his Trumpet was better than any Selmer one regarding the tone, and especially when playing the D, without need to use the third slide.
