Up for your consideration is a vintage 1959 Fender Princeton Tweed 5F2A amplifier. If your looking at this listing I'm sure you know what you are looking at. This was purchased from a local estate of a old jazz guitarist here in the city his collection was pretty impressive. I had some questions on its originality so I took it to my local Guitar Center where they sent pictures to their Vintage department in L.A and they came back saying that yes it was a authentic 1959 Fender Princeton Tweed but it looked like it had some refurbishing done to it. First the box looks like it has been re-wrapped in newer Fender tweed(Not 100% sure on that), the top part on the back looks to be newer also, it doesn't have the 2 oval holes in it like the originals do, possibly a newer handle( or it was really, really taken care of ), a replacement speaker( Jenson C10GHD ) which is a way better speaker than what these came with and it sounds great! The 5F2A amplifier part looks to be all original to my knowledge and in great shape. It fires up smoothly without any crackling or pops, no static in any of the knobs and a very low warm hum to it. In my opinion it needs nothing done to it just turn it on and start to shred, it has a very nice warm sound to it. The guys at Guitar Center were geeking out over how great of condition it was in and the nice warm tone it produced. They were fast to make me an offer but I declined. PLEASE!! look at all the pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask me questions or ask for more pics. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
