Up for sale, a 2005 Godin LGX-SA guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Featuring a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers, an acoustic transducer pickup built into the bridge, and a 13 pin synth output, the LGX-SA is an extremely versatile guitar that can truly do it all, while keeping the controls simple and intuitive. The LGX-SA is a three-voice guitar featuring electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the infinite possibilities provided by synth access. The output from the bridge transducer system in the LGX-SA produces six separate signals - one for each string. This divided signal is what Godin likes to call "hexaphonic," and is used to drive the synthesizer elements of the instrument. The most visible difference between the standard LGX and the LGX-SA model featured here is in the ebony fingerboard. The use of the ebony fingerboard improves synth tracking, and while guitar synth systems in the past were technically complicated and required radical changes in playing technique, the LGX-SA represents a new standard in user friendliness and performance. This is truly a 'plug in and play' system! The Honduran mahogany neck has fairly chunky medium C shaped profile with generous shoulders and a smooth satin finish. Unlike the most recent LGX-SA guitars which have a simulated "Richlite" ebony board, this Godin was made with a real slab of ebony! The medium jumbo frets show light wear on frets 1-5 beneath the plain strings and fainter flattening of the fret crowns beneath those same strings until roughly the 7th fret. The guitar plays cleanly in all positions with the full factory height of the frets intact and no buzzing or dead spots. At the nut the guitar measures 1 11/16", while the scale length is a full 25 1/2" and the fretboard radius is very flat and player friendly at 16". On the headstock face the guitar sports a flame maple veneer with a deep blue transparent finish to match the body. The locking tuners are also standard hardware with ebony buttons and optimal tuning stability. All of the electronics work as they should, and the guitar comes stock from the factory with a Seymour Duncan Custom III humbucker in the bridge position and a SH-II Duncan at the neck. In the upper bout of the guitar you will also find the controls for the RMC piezo pickups, and located in the bridge of the guitar are six individual piezo elements. The volume and 3-band active eq controls allow for the ability to shape the piezo sound from a large body acoustic to a smaller parlor guitar. Last but certainly not least, the 13 pin synthesizer output is perfect for pairing with your Roland synth for unparalleled versatility. These various pickups and output options are mounted on a solid Honduran mahogany body and AA flame maple top for a classic and enduring tone wood combination that brings out the best in all the on-board features.Cosmetically, this guitar is near mint, with only a tiny nick or two on the back and faint pick wear in the pick path. The deep blue transparent finish on the top reveals a gorgeous, bookmatched piece of flame maple and the top has a subtle carve to it as well which further enhances its classic look. The flagship of Godin's SA series, the LGX represents an incredible value and offers features found on few other instruments. The original padded Godin gigbag is included.
