The front is etched with a traditional Polynesian tattoo design inspired by tiki gods large wood and stone carvings of humanoid forms, found in Polynesia. The resonator ukulele is a descendant of the resonator guitar, which was originally designed to be louder than conventional acoustic guitars overwhelmed by horns and percussion instruments in dance orchestras.
