All hardware has been removed, cleaned & polished with Cape Cod Clothes & Simichrome polish. Hardware shows light wear; hoops have a few nicks & some tarnishing (mainly on the inner portion of batter-side hoop as shown).I polished the wrap with NOVUS 1 & 2 and it is extremely smooth, as close to new as you will find; this polishing does in fact improve the appearance even when a a snare is in otherwise very fine condition. A few light nicks/wear remained after polishing.If you purchase the snare the first thing to do is FEEL the wrap. It will be the smoothest wrap on a vintage drum you've ever felt.Please ZOOM in on all the photos to see the condition. Ask questions if you have them.Both batter & reso heads are 60's heads. Snare wires are new Puresound.GRADING VINTAGE DRUMS TAKES A BIT OF COURAGE AS IT IS A SUBJECTIVE AT BEST. THIS BDP SNARE IS WELL OVER A 9 (ON A 1-10 SCALE) & A LITTLE BELOW A 10. BUT - A BIG BUT: THIS IS A 49 YEAR OLD SNARE IN UNCOMMON CONDITION, DETAILED TO GET IT AS CLOSE TO FACTORY AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT DOING ANY MODIFICATIONS TO IT.PRICE REFLECTS ALL OF THE ABOVE.I HAVE SOLD IN 2014 + 2015 TWO VINTAGE BDP SNARES FOR $1400 & $1100. THIS PARTICULAR SNARE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THESE OTHERS CONDITION-WISE. I AM ONE OF THE FEW ON EBAY WHO IS NOT A GAR(B)AGE SALE. AS A BUYER MYSELF I'VE LEARNED THAT YOU CAN SOMETIMES FIND A GOOD DEAL ON EBAY AT A DECENT PRICE. HOWEVER, 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 A SELLER'S DESCRIPTION / PHOTOS DO NOT MATCH THE ITEM WHEN I OPEN THE PACKAGE.
