You are bidding on a 1997 Memphis-made Gibson ES-175 Anniversary jazz guitar, serial number 90867552. It’s in excellent shape save for one barely visible nick near the pickup switch (see picture 6 above). Here’s some other details:Top, sides & back--Flame Maple Neck--Mahogany Fingerboard--Rosewood Fingerboard Inlay--Mother of Pearl Pickups--Gibson Humbuckers Tailpiece--Trapeze with Raised CrossbarTuning Keys--Kluson DeluxeCase--Gibson Hardshell Most vintage guitars you see on ebay have seldom or never been played, and look like mint coins that have never seen circulation. They look like they’ve been bought for an investment, and they have. This guitar has been around. It’s been played by studio musicians in Nashville. It’s been played at gigs and at concerts. It’s been played plenty. It sounds wonderful. And it’s been taken care of. Looking at her now I almost hear the incredibly warm smokey jazz sound and the barely audible scratch as my fingers move over her strings. This and other 175s have found their way into the hands and hearts of many jazz guitarists, including Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny and Pat Martino. Buy her and don’t just let her sit. Play her, and you’ll be In great company indeed.
