Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Telecaster Thinline '70 vintage reissue electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in Japan exclusively for the domestic market (never intended for import to the USA), this rare Tele model features a semi-hollow mahogany body, with a feel and tonal characteristics that truly capture the spirit and feel of a genuine vintage example. There's plenty of the Tele's traditional bite, twang, and clarity on tap, as well as a warmth and smooth attack due to the body wood and semi-hollow construction. This Tele will growl and cut like few can, while being extremely easy on the back at only 7lbs. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Thinline has been restrung with 10-46 strings and dialed in for optimal action and intonation. The maple neck features a smooth gloss finish and quintessential medium C shaped profile which borders on the chunkier side of things and is particularly deep and round by the time you reach the 9th fret and beyond. The maple cap fretboard has a vintage 7 1/4" radius, with slender fretwire that shows only extremely light wear on frets 1-4 beneath the plain strings and virtually no wear up the neck. Notes ring out clearly in all positions and the guitar plays well with comfortable, slinky action and no buzzing. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the original Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and the era-correct block Tele logo is present as well (minus the "Thinline" text which only appeared on later iterations). All of the electronics work as they should, with a Master Volume and Tone control as well as a three-way pickup selector switch. The stock hardware is all accounted for as well including the white pearloid pickguard, pat. pending bridge with aluminum saddles, knurled chrome barrel knobs, and "top hat" black switch tip. The deep brown transparent finish on the mahogany body shows only a few light nicks around the sides of the body and a couple finish scratches in the clear coat, as well as some spots where the finish has faded per se to a lighter shade of brown across both the top and back.A new black tolex hardshell case is included.
