From the low E to the high E is 48mm at the nut end, and at the bridge it spreads to 62.5mm E to E.The Big Lou wide nut guitars based in the USA, have the same 48mm nut width, but just go to a standard body and pickups and standard 52mm bridge width.Where I usually on a twin humbucker guitar change the neck one into a single coil telecaster pickup or converted HB; here with the RG7321's interesting five selections of HBs and single coil options, I have kept it just as it is.As you can see, the strat type Ibanez fixed bridge is replaced by a Gibson TOM bridge as this makes a far better conversion from seven to six strings. The higher bridge height allowed me to make the guitar less flat and more a wrap-around feel as you play it... you will see there is now an angle from the body bringing the neck back towards you... the two humbuckers are also raised higher to meet the new angle. The neck had the most well levelled fret-wires I think I have ever seen... not one of them needed to be settled better into the fretboard to stop a buzz; it was almost perfect as it was, and indeed it did play pretty much perfectly except I could hear a bit of a rattle on some open or long strings; it seemed a shame to lose some of its flatness but to add clearance for the open strings I slackened the truss rod one flat and it cleaned up the low notes and didn't lose anything on the high notes at the top.It has every sound from hollow clear strat to Gibson driven humbucker tone; and the mid (3rd position) brings in all four coils to make a super bucker! I like the stratty tones in positions 2 and 4.I love this so much and if I didn't have three kids to feed I would buy it and use it myself! Thanks for looking and reading,Mark D Phillips.......
