Everything works. Power Mutes can be used with the S15G but don't need to be - this was a solution that worked for a particular stage set up. This rig was used on a few dozen small touring dates mostly in concert halls and listening rooms. No smoke / water exposure etc. These microphones were successfully used on guitars, banjos and ukuleles. The amp housings and PowerMutes were professionally engraved for ease of setup / aesthetics. The engravings do not indicate the intended use of the microphone or the amplifier - the cases were simply engraved to facilitate quick stage set up. The AMT S15G microphones and AP40 floor preamps are stock AMT units with no modifications that can be used for any acoustic instruments on which they can be mounted. In this case, they were used on acoustic and archtop guitars, 4 and 5-string banjos and multiple sizes of ukuleles.The S15G is a professional acoustic guitar microphone designed for capturing in crucial recording and / or live sound reinforcement applications. The microphone’s design accommodates any acoustic guitar body, clamps to the outside of the guitar, and is suspended in a 4 point isolation ring reducing handling noise.. It is adjustable from a minimum of 3″ to a maximum of 5-7/8″. The S15G features a secure clamp-on mounting mechanism that provides a secure fit without damaging the instrument’s finish.
