A cracking Xmas gift for yourself or a loved one! This is an honest, real players Gibson Les Paul Junior Special. P100 pickups (I believe), after market Bigsby, with the original tailpiece, studs and tuneomatic supplied in its fitted non-Gibson tweed hard case. Slim neck - one of the thinnest I've played on a Gibson. Slab mahogany body with great sound from aggressive (think The Who's Live at Leeds but with better sustain), to cleans and even jazz. I just don't get on with the shape of Les Paul single cutaways, and I've tried just about everything except a Custom.. Quite played condition, commensurate with a 20 year old instrument that's been gigged hard, so dings and scratches, none of which affect sound or playability - frets are great, good action, etc. No neck repairs or cracks in the wood. Bags of character! You will see from the photo that the nitro finish around the headstock has issues . Sadly, this is a well documented problem with Gibson's and Mother of Pearl inlays - the material they use for the black fascia, nitro finish and they way they finish them can lead to contraction and expansion of the 'varnish' when the guitar goes through changing heat, humidity, etc, over a number of years.  This causes the nitro to lift around the logo and crack - this instrument has similar issues around the machine heads.  All of this took place long before I acquired the guitar. It can be repaired, but for me that would detract from the authenticity of this guitar. So - an honest, players guitar that plays and sounds great, is perfect for those 70s Who, Johnny Thunders, etc type rock tones, and cleans up nicely on the volume controls.  A REAL Gibson - FAR superior to those xx's Tributes and 'Juniors' that Gibson make and sell around this starting price, with a proper finish, and a good version of one of Gibson's best sellers.  I'm prepared to deliver the guitar in The South Wales area, say from Carmarthen to Newport and north as far as Brecon. Happy bidding - a cracking Xmas present indeed!
