Title and dedication engraved by W. & A.K. Johnston; music engraved by Robert Home. Title page scene designed by William Bonnar. Foxing to title page and less-so to a minority of leaves.
Rare: OCLC records only one UK holding [National Library of Scotland] and two in the US.
10.2 x 7.2 inches No date of issue specified, however the first lines of the Preface suggest mid-late 1830s: "The monument to the memory of Robert Burns, erected on the Calton Hill, Edinburgh, has long remained in an unfinished state, for the want of a comparatively small sum of money, and to assist in its completion, the profits of this volume are to be applied." James Duff Brown notes that with the profits of this work, McLeod "completed the Burns monument at Edinburgh by enclosing it within an iron rail." [Biographical Dictionary of Musicians, 409].
The volume of 25 works was dedicated to The Duchess of Buccleuch.
Publisher's cloth over paper boards, with gilt design to front, unevenly tanned. Rubbed along hinges, chipped at head and foot of spine with crease from where the volume lies flat when opened to pages 48/49. Binding remains sound and hinges secure. Titles as follows:
