This listing is for one (1) Harp Ukulele. It’s hard to play a sad song on a Ukulele; the 10-string harp ukulele is more than double the joy of a standard 4-stringer! This is the last Harp Ukulele, "year-end-clearance" for 2016 to make way for the 2017 models. The reserve is super low and ready to go under your Christmas tree this season! The Harp Ukulele is a Tenor-sized Uke (17" scale) with six additional sub-bass strings. The harp strings do not need to be changed often; they are only touched lightly with one finger and not fretted. These basses can be tuned to A, B, C, D, E, F. This moves smoothly into the Uke tuning, G, C, E, A. The Harp Ukulele can use either a low or high G on the fourth string. The sub-bass strings are the lower E (1), A (2) and D (3) Classical guitar strings. Changing the strings is simple with a slotted bridge. The body is Wenge (solid), the top Carpathian Spruce (solid). The finger board and bridge are Macassar Ebony, bone nut and saddles with abalone inlay. There is no case or gig bag. It will be packed extra secure for the trip, comes with insurance and tracking number. The photos are from the shop work bench and the actual instrument that will be shipped to you; no modifications.  Here is a short video closeup from the shop of this instrument:
How do you play a Harp Ukulele? This instrument's potential is limited only to your imagination. Here's a short clip of "Jamaica Farewell" on a similar Harp Ukulele. This is just a demo.  I’ve tuned the basses – G, B, C, D, E, F to match the main chords in the song (key of C). The bass strings are a mix of the lower E (1), A (2), D (3) nylon strings of a Classical Guitar. The Uke is tuned to standard Tenor – G, C, E, A (with a low G). The Harp Ukulele Tablature on the screen has two parts that are read in tandem, like a piano score; the top four lines are the Uke strings and the bottom six lines are the bass strings. The tab is straight forward however, I’m adding additional syncopation for that “Calypso” island feel. The basses can also be used with standard rhythm chords. If you never play the harp bass strings, they add an nice "harmonic reverb" to the Uke strings. If you require a pickup, I recommend the "Aloha Twin" by K&K. This instrument has no pickup installed. If you have question, please ask. Le't make this Christmas extra special with a Harp Ukulele! Thanks for viewing.
