SALVADOR IBANEZ c.a 1908
Salvador Ibáñez (1854-1920) was a great Spanish luthier. The Ibáñez guitars were considered the finest of their age and are prized for their excellent quality and impeccable workmanship. The Ibáñez first quality guitar played by Francisco Tarrega before he switched to the Torres guitar. Also Julian Bream has played during his artistic life a Salvador Ibanez guitar.ìThe sound is unmistakably Spanish - deep, dark and mysterious, and the experience of playing a guitar like this is unique, likely also due to the age and its having been played regularly for over 100 years. This guitar is decorated with an impressive mother-of-pearl in the rosette and bridge, the effect is incredible. Also the wood is wonderful, centenary brazilian rosewood, and aged spruce top.
The guitar has had some restoration work to repair some cracks, perfect restored. Playability, quality of sound and wonderful construction make this a very attractive instrument to collector and performer alike.
A great opportunity to buy a jewel of spanish guitar history.Year 1908 c.a
