This is a Florida era STM Double Ring tenor saxophone mouthpiece that was refaced by the late, great Freddie Gregory to a 7* .105 tip from a stamped 3*. Freddie did incredible work on any piece he touched and this one is a true example of his masterful skills with vintage metal links. Physically its in great shape. Has some light scratches and light wear around the tip but the whole piece looks excellent. Original bite plate in perfect condition. Serial # D15. Always played with a tooth patch. Shank is perfectly round and tip, table and rails are in fantastic shape. Its definitely on the darker side of the links I've played. It has a strong core and the low end of the horn and palms to altissimo just pop with this piece, silky smooth throughout all the registers of the horn. Over the years, Ive found a lot of FL links to be 'tubby' and too thick sounding but this one has lighting fast articulation and is the total opposite of tubby. Overall, it plays phenomenally well! It comes with the original box, black Pompano Beach box. There is barely any wear on the box, looks like its new right from the store. Stamped 3*, same as the piece. HAPPY BIDDING!
