scale 650mm AA (Jonah) Jones was a highly skilled Norwich (U.K) based Classical guitar and Lute maker who's fine instruments sell in the thousands and are considered advanced and beautifully crafted professional instruments. As a predominantly Lute maker only around 300 classical guitars are known to have been made and far less exist now obviously so a small club but a few passionate owners have written nothing but great things - it's a shame lack of information and reviews means these are something on more rare side of things but are far more valuable in sound and playability and craft than in scarcity! Make no mistake. Own an exceptional piece of English guitar making history and a guitar you would have to pay $3,000+ so come anywhere near the quality. A very special instrument indeed. There are discussion of AA Jones classical guitars at classical guitar delcamp website. A 1966 model is valued at £6,500 which is played by British classical guitarist John Cadman so these are high-end instruments used by concert players. AA jones only made 4 models this is the top of the line model using Brazilian Rosewood. I own another, cedar topped model, and unfortunately cannot justify keeping this one too, with a house-move and family priorities coming first at the moment. I purchased this guitar from a renowned London retailer of the finest vintage and used guitars. It was professionally set-up earlier this year. The tone and projection are incredible, very warm and rich with superb balance and deep basses. The intonation is perfect, the action masterfully easy, and the neck perfectly true. The guitar is suited for advanced professional players. A perfect grade 8 or professional performance guitar. Detailed condition
Hairline closed repaired crack (on back), professionally repaired on Denmark Street in London. A few very minor scratches to beautiful French-polished spruce top. Incredible condition for its age. The guitar has been barely used over the years. Gold plated machine heads/tuners feel very firm, hold great tune and are in excellent condition as you can see.
