Nice clear finish on the Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides with gold hardware. This Taylor model is one of the best sounding 12 string models ever made. The guitar has a nice low action and the thin profile mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard has a wonderful easy playing feel. The frets are in excellent condition with hardly any playwear. This instrument has a quality of tone that is rich and complex. The way the guitar is set up you can strum with great projection yet its so easy to play you can play fingerstyle with ease. The guitar is equipped with a pickup system and an end-pin jack. The pickup reproduces the tone of the instrument beautifully. This model is no longer in production... so if you've ever considered this model or wish you had bought one when they were available... here's your chance to have one in excellent condition. Includes the original Taylor hard shell case. Made in the USA. Serial Number: 960620139 Weight: 5 lbs. 0 oz.One of the most celebrated and popular 12-strings ever made, the Leo Kottke Signature Model incorporates tropical American mah back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood binding, and special bracing with a Jumbo body shape. Rosewood binding and a thin bands of green purfling add subtle accents, while the inlay-free fretboard is profound in its simplicity. The model was intended to use heavy gauge strings and tuned to C#, which yields Kottke's rumbling, throaty piano guitar sound.
