OK let's get all the statements of surprise out of the way up front! 1) I am not smoking crack! 2) I did not add an extra zero! 3) No, I am not dreaming! This is probably the rarest drum ever manufactured under the Camco name. If you are a serious Camco collector you will know this to be true. I personally have only ever seen one other Oaklawn manufactured aluminum shell snare drum, a 3 1/2 by 13. I welcome any constructive discussion on this item and will entertain serious offers. 8 lug drum. All parts are factory except for the snare wires and the heads. It features those magnificent Oaklawn chrome over brass, tall, rolled over rims. There is a beer tap style strainer, beautiful in it's simplicity and reliability. Single point adjustable butt. In shell keyholder with drum key in place. Except for a couple of scratches, the drum is pristine and showroom clean. No dents and no pitting on the chrome. What a sensational sounding drum! Absolutely suitable for current playing applications or just for admiring as a collectible. I've found this wonderful piece of history to be quite expressive. The drum works well in loud and soft settings. You can get a range of different kinds of sounds out of the drum and it's a pleasure to play for snare drum focused rhythms such as second line and Latin effects. It's tunable across a wide range. As a player, the thing that comes across very quickly on this drum is that it can be played exceptionally loudly. It will cut through any band. Because of the shallow depth, ghost notes cut through extremely well versus rim shots. So it is a fantastic funk/hip hop drum. It will work great for jazz as the articulate snare sensitivity enabled by the shallow depth works great when comping with guitar or piano chord rhythms. All parts are original and work well. Original strainer is intact and in place. No modifications of any kind. Definitely a collectors drum and it plays like a dream. Please ask all questions before bidding. I've never had negative feedback and I find that comes from having great communication with my buyers.
