This is a Loree Royal 125 model oboe, made in France and manufactured in January 2015. It is not yet two years old, having been purchased by the original owner in February 2016. The Royal 125 oboe is made with gold posts and rings and a heavy gold reed well. It has the high D facilitator factory installed and is made with ten year old grenadilla wood. This oboe is doubly special because it was made specifically for and imported into the USA by Liang Wang of the New York Philharmonic. Liang Wang has specific requests to the manufacturer for instruments he imports, specifically that they play at a slightly higher pitch, which is always a welcome characteristic especially for Royal oboes. The "L" stamp is visible above the serial number (above the "made in France" stamp) to identify this particular instrument as the Liang Wang model. The top joint has been replaced in November 2016 by the Loree factory, which extends the warranty for six months from the time of replacement. The factory warranty for this instrument will expire in May 2017. The new top joint is lovely and vibrant, plays well in tune, and has no cracks.This instrument is in impeccable condition with no wear to speak of. It is perfectly clean and ready to play right out of the box but should be broken in carefully like a new oboe. It comes with a case, cover, and all of the original accessories like a polishing cloth, stand, and Loree sticker. It also comes with a Woodwind Workshop Custom oboe humidifier. This oboe is in Flushing, New York and can be viewed or tried prior to auction's end by appointment. Sales tax will be applicable for deliveries within New York State.
