1957 SUPRO "SIERRA" ARCHTOP ELECTRIC GUITAR
Estimated price for orientation: 1 250 $
Category: Acoustic Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Supro String Configuration: 6 String Model: Sierra Soundboard Style: Archtop Body Type: Hollow Exact Year: 1957 Dexterity: Right-Handed Country of Manufacture: United States
Supro "Sierra" Archtop Electric Guitar in a wonderfully aged condition. Moderate checking throughout; Faded finish from its original Ivory to a slightly "yellowed" patina looks great, with a few scratches, scuffs and dings, as would be expected from a great playing 60yr old guitar like this. (Please see attached photos for more details). Completely ORIGINAL, except for brand new frets (6150 Stainless Steel), which makes her a very comfortable and FUN player! She has killer 'Art Deco' looks and produces awesome tones from her two original hand-wound humbucker pickups; Neck is straight as an arrow (no Truss Rod) and plays very comfortably; All electronics work as they should to include its original "Tone Blend" knob. She has a few nicks, dings and moderate finish checking, but is in great shape for a 60 year old guitar!Purchased at an estate sale, this guitar has been well protected from the elements over the past 6 decades. Serial #X83556; All original hardware throughout; Original pickguard is in very nice condition with light scratching on surface; Original pickguard bracing; Tuner heads turn well and maintain their grip; Rosewood fingerboard; All inlays throughout this guitar are original and intact with no loose fittings anywhere to be seen; Binding has no shrinkage or loose areas; Bridge and Tail Piece are original along with the original hand-wound humbucker pickups.I currently have her stringed with D'Addario 10-gauge Strings and she just sings! Neck is straight as an arrow and the action is very comfortable for jazz, blues, rockabilly, country, etc. -- And she's got tone! Honestly, she is a great playing 'Old Girl' who has aged gracefully and who can still sing like a songbird.
All that said, due to the antique age of this fine guitar, I am selling it as is, with no returns. PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE AND NOTE THAT I HAVE A 100% SELLER/BUYER RATING!!THIS GUITAR COMES WITH A NON-ORIGINAL HARDSHELL CASE (Actually a 1960's Archtop Case that does it's job well).THE FLAT RATE $100 SHIPPING COST INCLUDES COVERAGE FOR PROFESSIONAL PACKING SERVICE AND FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE AT FINAL SALE PRICE.I ONLY SHIP VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL WITH TRACKING SERVICE. (PLEASE NOTE THAT USPS DOES NOT PROVIDE A VERY GOOD TRACKING SERVICE TO SOME COUNTRIES!!)
