NEAR MINT MADE FOR SLASH AND OWNED BY HIM. 1999 GUILD CROSSROADS TRANS GREEN DOUBLE NECK 12 STRING /6 STRING GUITAR & STRAP. GIFTED TO SEAN CARR-DVS DEATH VALLEY SCREAMERS. UKRAINE. LEEDS. RUSSIA.This guitar was made for Slash out of the Guild Nashville Custom Shop in September 1999.Sean Carr originally from Leeds, UK, with his band Death Valley Screamers, were in negotiations to support Slash and Velvet Revolver on tour, this did not subsequently materialise, but further to that Sean Carr was offered the position of Vocalist with Velvet Revolver, due to commitments with his own band at the time, he declined the offer. Slash understood and respected his decision and the story of Velvet Revolver is history!Shortly after this, Sean was told something had been left in Munich for him to collect, he sent someone to collect what ever it was and they returned with this guitar!I have been in contact with Hans Moust, author of 'The Guild Guitar Book-The Company and the Instruments, 1952-1977' at http://www.guitarchives.nl/guitarsgalore/ regarding this instrument. When Guild closed their custom shops, not a lot was saved by way of records and so to this day, dating a Guild by its serial number can be difficult due to the lack of data. Hans was a regular visitor to the Custom Shop and he saved many documents and data from the business and was able to date this guitar to September, 1999. I told him the history of the guitar since it has been owned by Sean, and he said he was at the factory when this batch of Crossroads were made, and that from his database of information, confirmed that this was indeed made for Slash.The guitar is really in excellent condition, near mint, it has the 12 string hollow-bodied top half and a 6 string solid electric below, the guitar can be easily switched between the two with the toggle switch on the body. It comes with the heavy duty Custom Shop hard case, and also the strap that was originally with it, the strings are also original from that time and were not changed - Please view the pictures. This hung in a case in Sean's studio in Ukraine, along with some other guitars he owned at that time.This is a great opportunity to own this rare guitar, not many of these were made in any case, certainly not one owned by Slash! It is known that Slash originally designed this guitar on a napkin and went to Guild to build this double-neck guitar for him, he named it 'Godzilla".This was probably one from his collection, it is not the documented "Godzilla' that he is famously pictured with.Sean Carr and his band, Death Valley Screamers were particularly well known in Ukraine and Russia.
