p>Please be sure to watch the video tour above AND the pictures listed !2004 Gibson SG Platinum Black The SG is a classic guitar that started in the early 60s as a direct replacement for the then, not-so-popular Les Paul Model. These guitars featured a double cutaway for easier playing in the upper registers and a much thinner body to make them lighter. These guitars were seen as highly designed, playable instruments at their inception. Today, many players still love these guitars more than Les Pauls and names like Angus Young and Tommy Iommi pop to player’s minds when they think “SG.” These are Solid Guitars! The Case… This beauty comes in a nice aftermarket, hard-shell case. It is in good shape but does show signs of usage in the form of a few scuffs and scratches. To be perfectly honest, the case is not a perfect fit. There is some sliding inside the case and the headstock is a bit too close for comfort to the bottom of the case when placed inside. Bubble wrap will be provided to eliminate these issues so the case will be good to use without worries! The Guitar! Sporting a sleek black finish with platinum hardware, this 7lbs 3.7 oz beast is ready to be played. The neck profile is a full sized neck, but not quite a full on, over gaudy 50s style, but close. This neck is just a little bit thinner than the other platinum SG that we have. She comes stock with original uncovered “platinum” 490R and 490T pickups. There is light fretware on the first 10 frets, though very minor and not affecting playability currently. The pickguard has cracks on the four corners caused by overtightening of the screws. These appear to have either been glued back on or never completely broke off as even when you take the pickguard off, they stay in place and do not fall off. There is lots of wear on the guitar, but here are the most noticeable ones             Scratch on body where your arm would rest             Dot indentations underneath the bridge             Polishing/picking scratches everywhere             Bing by the Neck’s Volume knob and scratches/indentations by the input jack             Pickguard scratches             Few minor indentations and scratches on the guitar’s neck             Few scuffs of “paint” on the back of the guitar             Some light buckle ware on the back             The G string tuner was factory installed crooked             Bubbling lacquer over the side of the fretboard’s dot markers – cool ghostly look Conclusion Overall, this is a very cool looking, awesome playing SG. It has signs of being a well used instrument, but definitely wasn’t abused. If you’re looking for a cool, limited edition SG that is sought after by many, this is your next guitar!             Thank you for checking out our listing – if you have any questions please feel free to reach out and please be sure to view all the pictures and video tour.
