Thank you for viewing my listing :)*Late 50's bound telecaster. It's not often i get to do a bound telecaster; a little easier than a les paul though (!) but they do look pretty. Late 50's early 60's type sunburst, so a stained yellow centre and actually a dark brown burst that you can see in the sunlight splits properly into a more red burgundy overspray. Its a beautiful looking guitar; i just wish the pictures did real justice to it!
*Two piece alder body, about 4.2 lbs so no back breaker and has enough mass to ring nicely. Full cellulose paint job.
Complete with all the lacquer checking and dings and scrapes you'd expect; but more of a gentle ageing. Played in but not played out i suppose.
*Allparts neck, again with the rosewood join curved just to make it look a bit less clunky. This is a very comfortable neck. Its got a bit of size to it, but its not a fat neck by any means. 7 and 1/4 inch vintage radius and vintage sized frets; but a decent setup and its about as low as it needs to be..
*Ivory aged green pickuguard; which is a lovely match to the sunburst. Again i used several before i found the perfect match. Some colours just work better than others, and they are all so different, just like the real nitrate guards.
*Alnico pickups, i forget from where in truth as i've wired up a lot of guitars this past few weeks and i can't remember where i got these from! They aren't cheap pickups though, and they sound great with the characteristic tele snap.
*Tried and tested ashtray bridge, and you shouldn't have any problem retro fitting say a fender one on to it if you really want (i can do it for you at cost if that makes any difference); and standard brass saddles complete with their intonation issues! actually this intonates pretty well; better than most tele's i've played! i have a set of compensated saddles i can use if you'd prefer.
All in all a really great guitar, very convincing visually, and a lovely guitar to play..I've done a lot of work on refinishing real deal vintage guitars, both fender's and gibson's and my guitars are all over the world now having been bought by players and collectors alike. Never had anything but surprise at how authentic the work is up close (unfortunately pictures never really capture the subtle details); and my work has always been compared right up there with the few people in this game that really know what they're doing.
This is a guitar that won't disappoint.Any questions feel free to ask.
